White asparagus is a seasonal crop, and according to the locals one of the few vegetables that is only found in the shops in April and May. Many restaurants and families have their own recipes for it’s preparation but mostly I’ve found it with a cream sauce.
Being a beer drinker I’m enjoying German beer, but what interests me more is the culture around drinking beer. This is a Saturday morning market in Kolliwitzstrasse, and this is a breakfast beer as he waits for his sausages to be cooked. The beer is served by the stall cooking sausages
It is also quite common to see people just walking around with a bottle or glass of beer
Main trip today was to Brücke Museum which “houses the world’s largest collection of works by Die Brücke (“The Bridge”), an early 20th-century expressionist movement. Apart from the artwork the building itself is a neat design with natural light wells illuminating the artwork on the walls.

Learning German by reading the table signs. I think this says “Bitte drinnen aus diesen bestellen und bezahlen! Danke!” Which I roughly translate as “Please order and pay inside of these! Thanks!”

Gesundbrunnen bunker
I had heard about this bunker, and the tours run from the local U-bahn station. In a very heavily tree park is a hill and this bunker stands on top of it , although much of it is underground. I was amazed at how big it was, you can see the man standing next to the wall below to give some perspective. From what I could read what you see is the Flakturm or anti-aircraft tower

Crossing a fairly large bridge over some railway lines in Gesundbrunnen, I was amused to find that the cars you see in the photo are actually parked on the bridge, not waiting for traffic lights to change as I originally thought.
Street art, Oderbergerstrasse.I notice that while most attention is given to the large street art pieces, smaller works have their place.
